Children's Liturgy

Children's Liturgy gives young children (aged ~4-9) a better understanding of Sacred Scripture.

We offer Children's Liturgy on Sundays during both the Polish 9:30 am and English 11:00 am Masses. No registration required. Children typically gather at the back of the church shortly before Mass, and return from the parish hall, guided by volunteers, about half-way through Mass.

Parents are always welcome but never obliged to accompany their child(ren) if desired in order to see what we do and to help their child(ren) feel more comfortable. Children are never required to attend Children's Liturgy if they or their parents prefer that they remain in church.

Please contact the parish office if you you would like more information.

Altar Servers

Are you in or above grade 2, including in high school? Our priests need your help! Become an altar server today!

Altar servers are a very important part of the liturgy, adding to the dignity and beauty of our parish Masses and helping them run smoothly. They also help with setting up before Mass and cleaning up after Mass. They make sure that Father has everything he needs to celebrate Sunday and weekday Masses and other liturgies.

With age and experience, altar servers can take on greater responsibilities at Mass, including using incense and even acting as a master of ceremonies.

Altar servers can also learn to serve weddings, funerals, confirmations, holy hours, processions, and other special liturgies and devotions.

Ongoing, monthly training is provided by our priests and trained volunteers, and fun special events are organized for our altar servers on a regular basis. Specially tailored vestments are provided by the parish (free of charge) for each altar server to use and take care of.

If you or your children are interested in becoming altar servers at St. Gabriel's, or if you are interested in volunteering to support our altar server program, please tell one of our priests or contact the parish office.

Family Holy Hour

Please join us in the church for a child-friendly time of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament every 3rd Tuesday of the month from 5:30 to 6:20 pm.

Families are welcome to come and go as they need. Parents should feel free to bring their children of any age, to allow them to look around, ask questions and pray.

The goal of Family Adoration is not silence or stillness, but rather to help our children know that the presence of Jesus is a place where they can have joy and belong.

All are welcome!
